The line-up for the Body & Soul arena at Electric Picnic has been announced today.
The programme contains a mix of international and Irish cutting-edge acts to play across its 3 stages: The Upstage, Earthship and the Body & Soul Main Stage
Nestled in a natural amphitheatre, The Main Stage is the perfect chillout area by day and becoming more carnivorous party area when the sun goes down.
Experimental pop queen tUnE-yArDs will be headlining a Friday night bill, after an acoustic set from Lau and the more raucous sound of Irish combo Girl Band.
Edinburgh's Young Father sand Berlin's Oum Shatt complete a European supporting cast to Montreal's Merril Garbus.
Saturday sees emerging Irish star Meltybrains? Appear alongside international acts like Kate Boy and Linkoban. There will also be some psychedelic glam rock from France's Moodoid, with ever-reliable Irish DJ Donal Dineen bringing the night to a close.
On Sunday, the UK's Glass Animals, American Perfume Genius and Anglo French popsters Francois and the Atlas Mountain combine to co-headline.
The Upstage is exclusively reserved for electronic music, showcasing talent from forward-looking Belfast and Bristol labels mixing it up with DJs and live electronic artists from home and abroad.
Music will vary from the deep house of Lake People to the techno of Bristol based Kowton.
Other highlights will include the only live show of 2014 from Carlow duo TR One. As Sunday night draws to a close, Body & Soul favourites o.utlier, will hand over to Galway house stalwart Padraic Disconaut.
The Earthship Stage will start off with a distinctly different sound, with the Friday bill featuring the rockabilly boogie of Country Joe and the Hayride., ex-Saw Doctor Leo Moran and sometime-Waterboy Anto Thisteltwaite.
The rest of the weekend sees a more broader palette with The Amazing Few, The Eskies, The Punchface Champions and the drum'n'bass rhythms of WOB!.
Sunday will feature singer-songwriters from various styles, such as Eileen Keane or Somerville sharing the stage with broader electronica acts including Tuam-based composer and producer Willow Sea.
Cork-based Ruff Chuff Live Crew will headline with their dub-heavy sound.
The Electric Picnic festival music and arts festival takes place from August 29-31, with Portishead, Beck and Outkast set to headline.
