Bardem to guest in 'Glee'

Javier Bardem is to guest star in the new series of 'Glee'.

The Oscar-winning actor - who is currently dating 'Nine' beauty Penelope Cruz - will appear as a rock star who befriends Artie (Kevin McHale) in season two of the hit Fox musical television show.

Javier explained: "We're going to rock the house. We're going to do some heavy metal - Spanish heavy metal, which is the worst."

The 'No Country For Old Men' star admitted he is a huge fan of the show and became so obsessed he viewed the entire first series in a one-week period.

The 41-year-old actor is not the first high-profile figure to express his desire to join the cast of 'Glee' as a guest star.

Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry and former 'Coronation Street' star Richard Fleeshman have all said they would be interested in appearing in the all-singing, all-dancing show.

Richard, 21, revealed: ""Definitely. Especially something like 'Glee'. It's the flavour of the month, that kind of thing. It's gone full circle with being popular and accepted, so who knows."
