Former Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle has given birth to a baby girl.

The 28-year-old singer announced her new arrival on Twitter at around 9pm tonight saying: “I am overjoyed to let you know our little girl is here. She is amazing! I love being a mammy & will fill you all in soon. Love Nadine Xx.”

Her bandmate Cheryl Cole was quick to congratulate her tweeting: “It is OFFICIAL!! There is a baby Aloud!!!!!! Congratulationsnadinecoylenow & Jason so amazing!!!”

Nadine announced last year she was expecting her first child with American football player Jason Bell.

What she will call her daughter is yet to be revealed.
