Ashanti and Nelly 'just good friends'

Despite the relationship rumours Ashanti claims she and Nelly are just “good friends”.

“Me and Nelly, we’re good friends. We kick it – hang out a lot,” the 27-year-old told People.com after performing the national anthem during game five of the Los Angeles Lakers-Boston Celtics basketball championship series.

With regards to persistent rumours that the couple plan to tie the knot, she held up a ring-free left hand and told reporters: “Oh no. No! No engagement,” before adding with a grin: “But definitely in the future!”

The rapper - most famous for hits like 'Hot In Here' and 'Dilemma' featuring Kelly Rowland - and Ashanti have been associated with one another for many years.
