There's plenty to be shouting about at tonight's Oscar's as five of our own are in with a chance to take home an Oscar.
Like the true supporters we are as a nation, there's no doubt that there will be a crowd of us across the country staying up until after 1am to catch all the glitz and glamour.
Those flying the flag for us tonight are:
People are certainly making noise about tonight's award ceremony on Twittersphere.

Good luck to all the Irish interests at the 90th @TheAcademy Awards tonight: Actress Saoirse Ronan, director Martin McDonagh, actor Daniel Day-Lewis, designer Consolata Boyle and studio Cartoon Saloon. Hopefully you’ll all walk away with one of these! pic.twitter.com/rc1Xcpj82N— Honorary Consul of Ireland (@IrelandMiami) March 4, 2018
I recently watched Phantom thread and I think Paul Thomas Anderson really outdid himself. He added so many layers and amazing subtlety’s that only someone who has a passion for his project can make. I’m sad that it’s Daniel-Day Lewis last film but oh what a way to go out! #TFM310 pic.twitter.com/ofZOMFLo1w— Brendan Mokler (@Mokey_Mokes) February 14, 2018
Hoping that Consolata Boyle brings it home tonight! #oscars— Ahhhh-na Screamhan (@local_hippo) March 4, 2018
@saoirse_ronan You are beautiful. You represent a girl who wants freedom, you were amazing. Please, an oscar for you today.— santi (@santigarciaa15) March 4, 2018

14. Phantom Thread.
For the love of god we need to complete the “Daniel-Day Lewis accepting Oscars with progressively less hair over the years” collection pic.twitter.com/vFz9aD2qop— Spooky Spice (@allyousailors) March 3, 2018
@saoirse_ronan so hope you win the Oscar tonight, you are a totally awesome actress and seem to be such a lovely person! ❤️and respect ✊ x— Steve Olley (@Esteban27Olley) March 4, 2018
If everything was right in the world Saoirse Ronan would end tonight a two time best actress winner but it is not.— Tyler DuBois (@BritSwiftKing) March 4, 2018
Interviewing the CEO of the @IrishFilmBoard James Hickey in Hollywood ahead of the #Oscars. Plenty of Irish interest among the nominees this year. The TV & film business is worth a billion euro a year to the Irish economy and employs 17,000 people. pic.twitter.com/uL0hfthr1V— Brian O'Donovan (@BrianOD_News) March 2, 2018

Ah, and there's nothing like a bit of Irish humour.
I wonder did our Irish Oscar nominees get to LA at all at all ...— Niall O'Keeffe (@NiallOK) March 3, 2018
Hoping Saoirse Ronan wins for “Galway Girl”— Dylan Garsee (@dylangarsee) March 4, 2018
Some lovers of the Irish accent would only love to hear Saoirse's acceptance speech.
I absolutely want Frances McDormand to win the Oscar because she was amazing and she’s the best actress alive not named Meryl Streep, but I also want Saoirse Ronan to win because I want to hear her acceptance speech...and I want it to go on forever, just like never stop talking— D.R. Pena II (@RegularDonnie) March 4, 2018
We may have an attractive accent but some people will just never understand our strangely spelled names...
Best of luck to all of the Irish and all of the nominees at tonight's ceremony in LA.
