Actress wants 'EastEnders' characters to wed Ray

Tameka Empson wants her on-screen alter ego Kim to marry Ray in 'EastEnders'.

The 35-year-old actress - who has played bubbly Kim Fox on the BBC One soap since 2009 - has revealed there is trouble ahead for her character's romance with Ray Dixon, but she hopes that the pair could tie the knot in the long run.

Asked what the future has in store for Kim, Tameka told InsideSoap magazine: "You're going to see Kim get mad! She's normally very happy-go-lucky, so when life really hits her hard, how will she deal with it?

"It would be nice to see her and Ray go the distance, though - Kim and Ray's wedding is something I'd love to see."

The actress claims the popularity of the on-screen couple stems from her great working relationship with Chucky Venn, who plays single dad Ray.

She explained: "Chucky and I work well together, and the fans tell me they love seeing Kim and Ray as a couple."

Tameka is nominated for the 'Funniest' character gong for the second year in a row at the 2012 InsideSoap Awards and says she always has a blast filming the show.

Speaking about her funniest moments to date, she added: "I also enjoyed the episode where Kim accidentally chopped off Ray's finger in the Queen Vic kitchen..."
