'500 Days of Summer' an honest, modern romance

Director: Marc Webb

Cast: Joseph Gordon Levitt, Zoe Deschanel, Chloe Moretz

Cert: 15

A wonderful story of ill-judged romance told in a manner is everything a romantic film should be, and played by performers who bring life and originality to their characters.

Tom (Levitt) longs for the right person to make his life complete and believes he has found her in Summer (Deschanel), the new secretary in his workplace ... only Summer isn't into love or romance, she's no believer in giving her heart to anybody and even though you can't fail to love her she's a bit on the cold side.

So as we follow the fated pair through their romance, how will it all end ... well, not quite as you might expect.

It's a terrific, sympathetic, honest romance.

Star Rating: 5/5
