The internet is debating how many towels you should own and no one can agree.
Social media user @advil posed the question to the twitter community, after he and his girlfriend could not agree on the optimum number of towels to own.
He said: "I said ten and she looked at me like I was crazy. We have zero frame of reference on the appropriate amount of towels in a household of two."
And thus, came the varied responses:
My random rule of thumb: Two full sets for each person in the house, plus a full set for each guest you have space for. If you have a dog, you need approximately 100 more. https://t.co/8aOce2GI3L— Lauren Morrill (@LaurenEMorrill) February 18, 2019
My father's rule of thumb was to have enough to skip laundry for 2 weeks. I keep enough for at least 3. https://t.co/NOwxrDcvlg— R.A. Microbiologist (@CoquiTalksTrash) February 18, 2019
Some responses were a little more philosophical:
While others seemed to take the Monica from F.R.I.E.N.D.S approach:
As a couple you should own a minimum of the following
10 Bath Sheets
10 Bath Towels
10 Hand Towels
20 Wash Cloths
Preferably more https://t.co/CWqd8kp5vJ— Yashar Ali 🐘 (@yashar) February 18, 2019
Though not everyone agreed, and some were even more confused:
What the hell is a “bath sheet?”— Mikel Jollett (@Mikel_Jollett) February 18, 2019
my only towel take is that you can either be a "bath sheet" person or a normal "bath towel" person but you can't have both— Ashley Feinberg (@ashleyfeinberg) February 18, 2019
Exceptionally bad advice. Can’t get over how wasteful this is. I don’t know what sort of towel deprivation in childhood would lead this sort of towel hoarding as an adult.— Aisha Sultan (@AishaS) February 18, 2019
We will leave you with this democratic response:
How many towels do you own?
