28-year-old Covid-19 patient, Michael Prendergast has posted a video from his hospital bed pleading with the public to stay indoors.
The Kerryman spoke from an isolation unit in Kerry General Hospital and warned that “this virus is a killer”.
He tested positive for Covid-19 shortly after returning from London, where he lives.
In the video, shown on SkyNews, he said: “I have been so sick and so weak that I couldn’t raise my own head. If my life ends now, I’ve been asking myself, ‘Have I been a good person, have I done enough in my life?’ There’s still so much I want to achieve.”

Speaking on Newstalk, Mr. Prendergast said he battled pneumonia, a collapsed lung and even a broken back in the past, but this is “by far and away the worst.”
