US jobless rate falls to 9.5%

The US unemployment rate fell to 9.5% last month, despite the loss of 125,000 jobs.

The figure is good news for President Obama, who is trying to put the economy back on track before Congressional elections in November.

The White House has repeatedly warned unemployment will remain high for the rest of the year.
