Surveyors call for new housing authority

The Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland is calling for a housing authority to be established to deal with the housing crisis.

The group is today publishing details of a report into creating affordable housing options.

The report also calls for tax incentives to be introduced for providers of rented accommodation, as well as a reduction of the VAT rate for new housing units.
