Online shopping, internet downloads and international phone calls could all soon become cheaper thanks to plans for a "single digital market".
The European Commission will outline its plans today for a new framework for the internet across the continent.
It could also mean that on-demand TV services are available to everyone wherever they live.
Tech investor Eileen Burbridge welcomed the move, saying: "It makes a tangible difference to comsumers' lives.
"It's going to make things much more efficient across member states, which will lead to better services and products because companies are investing in the products and not in overseeing regulations for consumers."
