SIMI numbers show 16% slump in new car sales

The number of new private cars being licensed dropped 16% in April, according to the Society of the Irish Motor Industry.

There was also a 14.1% drop in the number of goods vehicles being licensed in the month, compared to the same time last year.

The total number of all vehicles was down by nearly 2,000, or 15.9%.
