Ryanair passenger numbers up 19% for August

Ryanair today announced passenger numbers of 6.88m for August, a rise of 19% on the August 2008 figure of 5.78m.

The numbers represent a new monthly record, the low-fares airline said.

Load factor for the month - the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of seats - remained unchanged on the same period the previous year at 90%.
