Motorcheck site claims rise in sales of new cars

New car sales increased by almost a third last month, when compared to January 2013, according to Motorcheck.ie.

There were almost 22,000 new cars registered last month.

Over 17,000 were sold in January last year.

The figures also reveal that new car sales in January this year reached their highest levels since 2008.
