The ISEQ index of Irish shares was up 13.52 points to 2.400.42 this morning.
There was mixed news for the financials, with Allied Irish Banks down 7c to 83c and Irish Life and Permanent up 7c to €1.92. Bank of Ireland inched up 1c to 71c.
After taking a hammering in recent days, CRH recovered 18c to €16.99.
Following its announcement of a 14% increase in revenue, Elan jumped 27c to €4.52. Paddy Power grew 14c to €14.59.
However, Kerry Group was down 34c to €15.14. Tullow Oil declined 10c to €8.25.
