ISEQ up at close

The ISEQ index of Irish shares ended the week in positive territory, closing up 28.14 points today to 2,449.74.

Major gainers included CRH, climbing 58c to 17.70; Tullow Oil, rising 40c to 8.88; Paddy Power, cheering 35c to 13.92; C&C Group, up 9c to 1.53; Ryanair, up 6c to 3.26 and Aer Lingus, gaining 2c to 0.72.

On the fallers' board, Kerry Group tumbled 30c to 14.90; Glanbia dropped 18c to 2.47 and Elan shed 9c to 4.66.

Financials finished in the red, with AIB down 7c to 0.86 and Irish Life & Permanent shedding 9c to 2.15.

Bank of Ireland meanwhile topped the fallers' board, slipping 9c or 12% of its value to 0.66.
