ISEQ closes down 4%

The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed just under 4% down this evening, after another day of yo-yo trading on world markets.

The Irish banks all closed down, with the exception of Irish Life and Permanent which was up almost 7%.

In the UK, the Footsie was down more than 100 points.
