ISEQ almost static

There was little overall movement in the Irish Stock Exchange today, with the ISEQ index inching up 3.77 to 6,433 by 11am today.

The financials did well overall, with all except Bank of Ireland (down 14c to €8.55) showing progress. Anglo Irish Bank climbed 7c to €9.42, Irish Life & Permanent was up 6c to €11.53 and Allied Irish Bank gained 5c to €13.71.

The construction sector saw some impressive gains, with CRH leading the way (up 15c to €24.33). Abbey also did well, climbing 12c to €5.50. Kingspan bucked the trend, falling 17c to €7.67.

The biggest gain of the day came for DCC, up 70c to €15.80, after announcing positive yearly results this morning.

FBD (up 14c to €26.99) and IFG (up 10c to €2.20) also performed well.
