IBEC calls for income tax reductions

IBEC, which represents businesses and employers, wants the Government to further reduce income tax.

The assocaition says that cutting tax would boost consumer spending and increase economic activity.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny will speak at the group's CEO conference this morning.

CEO of IBEC Danny McCoy, said today's event will examine how Ireland can work better for businesses.

"The theme this year is 'better by design' (including) better public policy - including our welfare system and taxation system," he said.
