GSK officially opens €12m facility in Cork

GSK has opened a multi-million euro investment in its Cork operations.

The pharmaceuticals giant has invested €12m in its research and manufacturing facilities in the city, and said this would allow it to expand the range of medicines it makes in Ireland.

Head of engineering Kevin O'Keefe said at the project in Currabinny: "We’re (today) opening a new kilo-scale facility. It’s a €9.6m investment and that facility will allow us to introduce new highly specialised medicines to be manufactured here in Cork.

“The second investment is a €2.5m investment in a technical development laboratory.”
