Food group Greencore saw its half-year group operating profit climb 1.7% higher to €27m compared to the same time last year, the company said today.
It said group sales of €442m for the six months to March 25 represented a 7.9% increase on the same time last year.
Bank interest reduced by €4.7m to €9.2m due to the significant reduction in group debt as a result of the a disposal programme last year.
Group chief executive Patrick Coveney said: "Our business continues to perform well, despite some of the recent challenges in the UK and US food markets."
Greencore is now primarily a convenience foods business, with 90% of its sales from the sector.
