Fitzpatrick expected to be declared bankrupt

The former chairman of Anglo Irish Bank Sean Fitzpatrick is expected to be declared bankrupt next week.

The ex-bank chief faces financial ruin on Monday when his creditors will apply to have him bankrupted over €110m of debt.

It is reported today that Mr FitzPatrick offered Anglo Irish Bank a larger stake in a lucrative oil field to keep it from chasing his wife and children for money they owed on property investments.
