Equity markets see $4trn wiped off value in a month

Experts say around $4trn has been wiped from the value of equity markets around the world this month.

It is largely being put down to continuing concern over the European economy.

The latest developments yesterday saw the European Commission give Spain more time to reduce its budget deficit and help banks that need more capital.
