Elan to cut 29 jobs at Athlone plant

Drugs manufacturing firm Elan is to cut 29 jobs in Athlone.

The company said it is direct result of a decision by Eli Lilly to bring the manufacturing of its Duloxetine drug in-house.

The employees affected were advised of the move on Monday.

Elan, which employs over 500 people in Dublin and Athlone, said these are isolated cuts, and no other jobs will be affected.
