Cliffs of Moher Visitor centre reports millionth visitor 36 days earlier than 2014

The Cliffs of Moher has clocked its one millionth visitor of the year this morning.

The figures are 15% higher than this time last year and the million mark has come 36 days earlier than it did in 2014.

Clare County Council says it is the fifth consecutive year of increased footfall at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience centre.

Visitors from the USA are the strongest visitor market, accounting for more than a quarter of total visits, while domestic visitors account for a similar proportion.
