Warnings are being issued this morning about two investment firms operating in the country without the authorisation of the Central Bank.
Hong Kong company Global World Mergers & Acquisitions and Japanese firm Monarch Wealth Consultants are not permitted to do business here.
Anyone who does business with these two firms is not eligible for compensation under the Investor Compensation scheme.
Notices are being published in today's newspapers explaining that the firms have been offering investment services without the Central Bank's authorisation, which is required by law.
Anyone who may have information about the companies, or any other firm suspected to be operating without permission, is asked to contact the Central Bank on 01 224 4000.
