Bond auction yields €1bn

The Government has raised €1bn in an auction of 10-year bonds.

The yield was 1.63%.

Total bids received amounted to €2.5bn which was two and a half times the amount on offer.

The money was raised by the National Treasury Management Agency which manages the country's debt.

So far this year, the NTMA has raised €8bn in the bond markets.
