140 network jobs to go at BBC

One hundred and forty network news jobs are to go at the BBC from April next year.

The move is part of the Corporation's cuts programme which was announced last October, where they estimated around 800 news posts would be shed over five years.

Because of some extra funding, that number has been revised downwards to 500.

BBC News has to save nearly £70m by the end of 2016.
