1.2 million passengers travelled from Ireland to Spain this year

Over 1.2 million passengers travelled from Ireland to Spain between January and August 2015.

The Spanish Tourism Office in Ireland and Spanish Statistical Institute has said that these figures are a 5.2% increase on the same period last year.

156,385 Irish residents visited Spain in August this year.

Gonzalo Ceballos, Director of the Spanish Tourism office in Ireland said he believes Irish people travel to Spain because they love a good bargain. “We believe Irish people travel not just due to a cultural affinity with Spain, but because it's great value for money,” Mr. Ceballos said.

Spain has over 3,000 beaches and 664 Blue Flags along its 8000km coastline.
