Companies have lost nearly 10,000 working days so far this year as a result of industrial disputes.

For the third quarter of 2013 nearly 7,000 days were lost - a significant jump from 571 on the same period last year.

The transportation and storage sector accounted for almost 95% of the total days lost in the first nine months of 2013.
