MICKEY HARTE was pleased with the performances of the newcomers in Tyrone’s emphatic McKenna Cup final victory over Monaghan.
"We had a relatively new side out there in terms of what we’ve played with this year to date and I think they acquitted themselves well. We created a lot of scoring chances, took enough to be well ahead at half-time and built on that in the second half," the Red Hand boss said.
Harte noted, though, that his team may need to improve further for next weekend’s National League meeting with Cork.
"The first half in particular wasn’t as intense as we’ve witnessed in the league to date. But the second half opened up well."
Disappointed Monaghan manager Seamus McEnaney said: "I’m making no excuses for our performance. Our performance was terrible and it wouldn’t be up to scratch at all."
