Outhalves eye Munster spot

By Barry Coughlan
DAVID McAllister and Barry Keeshan may be in the shake-up for a place in Munster’s squad next season.

The outhalves (McAllister for Terenure and Keeshan for Dolphin) have enjoyed impressive seasons in AIL Division Two.

The news this week of Paul Burke’s departure to Leicester on a two-year contract has heightened the need for coach Declan Kidney to find another fly-half for Munster’s 2006/2007 squad

Former Irish U21 player McAllister held discussions with Munster recently and, though he is Leinster based, it seems he would be anxious to take up a contract down south. One way or the other, it seems unlikely that Kidney will look outside the country for a replacement when Burke returns to Leicester at the end of the season.
