Sareya can get off the mark

SAREYA is fancied to put us in good form for the remainder of the programme by taking the opening Tulsk Fillies Maiden at Roscommon this evening.

Sareya can get off the mark

John Oxx’s charge was returning from a break at Gowran Park five days ago and it is most encouraging she is turned out again so quickly.

The three-year-old tried to make all then and it was only in the dying strides the daughter of Alzao gave best by a head and a short head to stable companion, Babacora, and Diaconate.

The form is ordinary, but, down in class and a furlong, Sareya can get off the mark and land the nap in the process.

Corporate Express has very much the best of the weights in the Athleague Novice Hurdle, but is out of form and it should pay to look elsewhere for the likely winner.

That comes in the shape of Dermot Weld’s Amid The Chaos, which will again be partnered by in-form Ruby Walsh. The season’s leading rider was in the plate when the selection enjoyed a good school on the way to justifying cramped odds in a moderate event at Kilbeggan.

Previously, Amid The Chaos looked on good terms with himself when set to make a race of it with the more than useful Pharviva at Galway, only to fall five out.

The once-raced Ease The Way, also trained by Weld, gets the nod in the Sean Naughton Auctioneers’ Maiden.

He performed with plenty promise at Gowran Park in May, third to Cold Cold Woman. The colt has been off for some three months, however, so his travels in the market will be important!

The imposing Ballybeg Glen, who overcame a slipped saddle to score at Tipperary, gets the nod in the Bumper.
