When global technology leaders place long-term bets, they look for locations that combine talent, innovation, and a collaborative ecosystem.

Quest Software’s decision to invest in creating its Centre for Advanced AI Architecture in Cork firmly reinforces Ireland’s reputation as a European hub for cutting-edge AI research, talent development, and digital transformation.

The expansion, announced in December 2025, marks a major milestone in Quest’s global AI strategy. The new Cork Centre — supported by IDA Ireland — advances the company’s vision to deliver trusted, scalable AI innovation across data management, cybersecurity, and platform modernization. Quest’s investment is part of a wider $350 million capital infusion the company received designed to accelerate engineering, research, and next-generation AI solutions.

A strategic vote of confidence in Cork

The investment brings new high-value jobs to Cork and places the region at the center of one of the world’s fastest-growing technology disciplines. Quest expects to create up to 100 new roles, expanding teams in AI engineering, data science, cybersecurity, and advanced software development.

Additionally, Quest Software’s office in Cork plays a vital role for the company with more than 150 employees supporting a wide range of functions, including inside sales, customer success, sales support, sales enablement and accounting, and many others, to support the full customer journey.

European Commissioner Michael McGrath, who attended the opening, described the development as “a significant investment in skills, talent, and jobs,” closely aligned with Europe’s AI Continent Action Plan to deepen expertise across the workforce.

The Commissioner’s support was one of many around Quest’s expansion and hiring. IDA Ireland said the software company’s decision places it “at the forefront of Enterprise AI transformation” while the Cork Chamber called the investment a strong vote of confidence in the region’s ability to support highvalue technology investment.

Additionally, Quest’s investment will contribute meaningfully to local economic growth and talent development both in Cork, and across Ireland.

Building the foundations of trusted AI

AI adoption is accelerating across every sector, placing increasing importance on technologies rooted in strong data governance, secure infrastructure, and modern scalable platforms. Quest’s expanded centre is designed to make Ireland a central engine for these capabilities.

Quest Software’s Centre for Advanced AI Architecture will focus on applied research and development from AIready data technologies, to cybersecurity solutions capable of defending organizations in an era of increasing digital threats. The work Quest will be leading in Cork will help deliver first-ofakind innovations built to empower global customer success.

Quest CEO Tim Page emphasised that investment in Cork strengthens the company’s ability to deliver trustworthy AI: “By investing in technology and talent, and partnering with local universities and research institutions, we can help develop the next generation of AI and cybersecurity professionals.”

A company deeply rooted in the community

The relationship between global technology firms and Ireland’s education system has long been a major contributor to the country’s innovation-driven economy. Quest Software plans to deepen this connection through new university partnerships, enhancing AI and cybersecurity curricula and expanding training opportunities for students and early career technologists.

Beyond its technical and economic impact, Quest Software is known for its meaningful engagement in Irish community life. The company actively supports a range of local charities and nonprofits—including Breakthrough Cancer Research, Field of Dreams, Good Shepherd Charity, The Rainbow Club, Autism Assistance Dogs, Barnardos, and Cork Cancer Care.

“We’ve been here for nearly two decades, and this investment signals that we plan to be here much, much longer,” said Marie Wycherley, Quest Software’s senior director and site leader in Cork. “We feel that our employees, and therefore our company, have been a fabric of this community for some time, and we’re excited to continue our good neighbourship, expand the relationships we have in the community, and build new ones. We’re proud of the work we’ve done here in Cork, and even more excited about what the future holds.”

Quest’s community commitment reinforces the company’s longstanding belief that global organizations thrive best when they invest not only in technology, but also in people and place.

Ireland’s future in the global AI landscape

The expansion of Quest’s Centre for Advanced AI Architecture is a strategic contribution to Ireland’s growing influence in the global AI landscape. With strong academic partnerships, worldclass engineering talent, and support at both regional and European levels, Cork is now positioned as a key hub for trusted, enterprise grade AI innovation.

For Quest Software, the decision reflects confidence in Ireland’s ability to support the next era of technological advancement. For Ireland, it represents another step toward becoming a powerhouse for AI research, digital development, and high-value tech careers.

As technology accelerates and the global demand for AI innovation intensifies, Quest’s expanded footprint in Cork stands as a testament to what can be achieved when industry, education, and community grow together.
