Google to add ad-blocking feature to Chrome

Google will add an ad-blocking feature to the mobile and desktop versions of its Chrome browser, according to an article from The Wall Street Journal.

Referring to people familiar with Google, the article states the ad-blocking feature will filter specific online ads found to have a negative effect on user experience.

Google may switch the feature on by default and is expected to make an announcement about its arrival in the coming weeks.

However, the article notes that Google is still finalising details and could decide to not implement the feature at all.
