Wenger the Premier League’s top paid manager

He may not have won anything since 2005 and his position may have come under threat earlier this season but Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is the highest paid coach in England and the fourth highest paid in the world.

A list compiled by France Football has revealed Wenger earns €9 million a year, €1m more than his old adversary Alex Ferguson on €8m.

Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is the best paid boss, earning €14.8m annually.

PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti is second with €13.5m while Barcelona supremo Pep Guardiola is third with €9.5m.

Recently departed England boss Fabio Capello also makes the top 10.

The Italian was handed €8.5m during his spell in charge of the Three Lions.
