Munster must get it right

For those still drying out from their last visit to Musgrave Park, Rob Penney’s assertion that the Cork stadium is not a happy hunting ground for Munster will be understandable.

The province’s last run-out there, on November 25, saw the hosts lose a competitive game in Cork for the first time since May 2008 when Scarlets had a 13-6 win earned in the midst of a deluge of biblical proportions.

Yet it was a defeat of Munster’s own undoing rather than any Musgrave Park effect that handed Scarlets their victory and the visit of another Welsh region in Cardiff Blues tonight gives Penney and his players the opportunity to right the wrongs of that defeat and maintain the hunt for RaboDirect Pro12 play-off place.
