Waterlogged Gowran Park and Tramore meetings re-scheduled

The weather continues to wreak havoc on Irish racing and the meetings scheduled for last night at Gowran Park and at Tramore this evening were both cancelled because of waterlogging.

Horse Racing Ireland, however, wasted no time re-scheduling the programmes and they will now take place next week.

Tramore will race on Monday afternoon, August 20, while Gowran Park goes ahead the following day, Tuesday. The original programmes will be in operation at the two meetings.

The time of the first race at Tramore will be at 2.25pm, with Gowran having a 1.30pm start. Both meetings will close for fresh entries by noon today and trainers are advised that entries already made must be repeated.

Tramore will now attempt to start their four-day festival tomorrow night, although that is subject to a course inspection this afternoon.
