Kranky can motor to victory

The resurgent Kranky Ma looks drawn to take tonight’s final of the iDrive School of Motoring A3 and the bitch rates nap material to convert the opportunity.

The middle leg of a treble for John Kiely last weekend, her return to form has coincided with that of her kennel and it’s hard to see her passing up as clear-cut an opportunity such as this.

Winner of last year’s Puppy Oaks Consolation at Shelbourne Park, she has a tremendous record from trap one (four from six here, five from eight in total), where’s she’s housed tonight. She has the ability to lie up with or make the pace in this company and a comfortable victory looks on the cards. The danger may come from flying starter Fear Gorm.

The final of the Liz O'Connor Memorial looks a straight match between very promising siblings Brogan Ajay and Prima Vera, with narrow for the former. Newcomers to the track when the stake began, they will lay their respective unbeaten records on the line tonight.

Big brother Brogan Ajay has a small advantage on the clock but it’s his more frugal tracking that swings the verdict in his favour. There isn’t much between them but the likelihood is that Prima Vera will concede ground steering a wide path, and her sibling can take full advantage to land the €1,100 winner’s prize.

Maeves A Lady has what looks like a winnable opportunity in the fourth race. At her best, Pat Kiely's bitch is better than A3 grade and she should avail of the opportunity.

Kieran Lynch’s Madam Shaw caught the eye in defeat behind Sede Vacante on her return here last week and if she can build on that she'll take beating in the finale.
