Gleeson three off pace

Alex Gleeson spearheads the Irish challenge after the first round of the prestigious Henry Cooper Junior Masters Championship over Kent’s Nizels course.

The Irish Boys’ International from Castle returned a highly-creditable level par 72 to be three strokes behind Scottish Boys Champion Craig Howie going into round two this morning.

Whitehead’s John Ross-Galbraith finished on 73 to stay in contention but was furious he did not do better as he dropped three strokes in the last six holes.
