O’Connor to ignore Kerry pleas

Kerry may be on the lookout for a new coach next week with Jack O’Connor set to reject County Board overtures to stay on for another season.

Discussions have stalled between O’Connor and chairman Patrick O’Sullivan, leading sources both to close parties to suggest the All-Ireland winning coach may call it a day over the weekend.

That will add to pressure on Under 21 coach Eamonn Fitzmaurice to step up to the senior post, though that remains highly unlikely.
