Cork started with a flourish, Emma Farmer raising a green flag inside the first minute. Meath replied from the kick-out, a defensive error allowing Geraldine Doherty to send a bullet to the roof of the Cork net.

Mulcahy restored Cork’s lead with a brace of goals in as many minutes to put them 3-1 to 1-0 in front but the respite was short.
