Limerick topped the Allianz League Division 4 table after an unimpressive performance at the Gaelic Grounds yesterday.
The hosts proved too strong for a London outfit forced to play all but the opening four minutes without red-carded centre-forward Lorcan Mulvey.
Though Limerick controlled the game and looked far sharper in attack, the sides were level (0-7 to 1-4) with Pádraig McGoldrick converting a 31st minute penalty following Damien Quaide’s foul on Eoin O’Neill.
Limerick had a penalty themselves moments after the restart but Seanie Buckley’s effort was saved by Declan Traynor. However, Ian Ryan found the Limerick net minutes later when he goaled following a Ger Collins’s pass.
The Shannonsiders were never troubled thereafter.
