GAA season ticket scheme aiming to build on 2012 success

The GAA is to roll out its money-saving season ticket again in 2013 — the fifth year of the scheme.

Take-up has been impressive to date, with almost 12,000 members and supporters purchasing tickets last year.

The base price of €85 for adults and €10 for juveniles provides access to the following games for your selected county and code (hurling or football): Allianz League matches in the selected code including any semi-finals, finals or relegation play-offs, All-Ireland club finals on St Patrick’s Day, All-Ireland Junior and Intermediate Club finals and incentives for other GAA fixtures.

“For example, a Donegal GAA football season ticket holder can attend any football league fixture in 2013 (including finals), Donegal’s opening Ulster Championship game, the AIB club finals plus the Junior and Intermediate Club Football finals in Croke Park,” explained spokesperson Siobhan Brady.

She said ‘Pay & Play’ applies as the county progresses through the Championship.

This means that the season ticket holder will be charged in advance of each additional fixture in the Championship. Season ticket holders can also qualify for an All-Ireland final ticket if their chosen county reaches the final in their chosen code by attending 60% of the county’s league and championship matches.

Full details can be found at www.gaa.ie/seasonticket.

Meanwhile Galway hurling officials are set to meet this evening to see what course of action should be followed about the unruly scenes at the end of Sunday’s county hurling final.

A number of players, including Loughrea full-forward Johnny Maher, could face disciplinary action following the incidents.
