Star duo see the bigger picture

IT’S not quite Lock, Stock but a new crime movie set in Limerick certainly has two Smoking Barrels.

Munster rugby star duo Donncha O’Callaghan and Jerry Flannery, no strangers to big-screen action with their province, have lined out to star in ‘Munster Cuts’ — a short film set in the city and which is slated for a release some time before Christmas.

The trailer has been posted online this week and the acting debuts from Limerick native Flannery and Leesider O’Callaghan are sure to provoke a box-office reaction in the Reds’ dressing room.

Hooker Flannery, delivers his line: “Slabs of Carling and 20 fags” before two characters clash in a car park under an Ocean Colour Scene soundtrack.

Then despite Harlequins recent problems sparked by their play-acting on the pitch over ‘Bloodgate’ against Leinster in last season’s Heineken Cup semi-final at The Stoop, O’Callaghan is seen in his training gear with ‘blood’ up to his elbows.
