South View could be right for you and with a price to match
Having sold the house next door at No 4 South View six months ago, estate agent Mark Gosling of Jeremy Murphy & Associates now has No 3 on the same sweet Ballinlough Road terrace for sale — and it’s already under offer.
Pitching the two-bed No 3 at €120,000, Mr Gosling notes “all the heavy work has been done, it’s been re-plumbed, rewired and has a new combi boiler, plus an extension behind with proper hipped roof. So, all a new owner might have to do is decorate.”
These terraced homes at South View, near the start of the Ballinlough Road close to St Finbarr’s Hospital and High Street, have a great, close-to-city setting, but they have a handy hidden bonus — a long leafy lane runs behind them, giving access to rear garden/yards and sheds. No 3’s now in good order for its finishing touches, and has a living room, kitchen, dining room, office and bathroom all at ground level, plus two overhead bedrooms, with a back yard and small workshed. A new owner might want to re-order some of the rooms, or move the kitchen further back — but that’s all discretionary.
No 4 next door was done in a different, bohemian arty style and sold at the start of this year via the same agents for a reported €148,000 according to the Property Price Register.
