Visitor gives thanks tosome Irish helpers

Irish hospitality has long been rumoured, and last week my mother and I witnessed it at the highest level during our vacation.

The minute I came to a rough stop after mangling my car’s wheel on the N71 near the Black Valley, citizens came to our aid to make sure we were okay (which we were). But then, amazingly, they generously spent time on a Monday afternoon directing traffic around our mishap for as long as they were needed.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to Tara and Ronan, a lovely couple from Limerick, who rushed to make sure we were ok, and Steve of Sneem (where he rescues cats) who stayed with us all the way until the tow truck came — three hours later. Although the accident itself wasn’t a highlight, we will not forget the people who helped make our trip very special.
