Don’t make the call

I was amazed to read Stephen Ireland wants to wear the green jersey again.

It seems he is only waiting on a call from Trapattoni and he will be first on the plane for Poland.

I’m wondering about all the calls made to him in the past urging him to play for his country.

Calls that went unheeded.

The Irish team have had a long, hard slog to qualify for “Euro 12”.

The players we have are committed to the cause and deserve our support.

Stephen Ireland wants a spin on the ferris wheel, but hasn’t paid the fare.

I hope Trap doesn’t make that call.
