FINANCE Minister Brian Lenihan made it clear that "the state will step into the breach" if it has to so that the banks with have the capital they need to survive (March 6).
What he really means is that he has made a decision that the Irish taxpayer will have to stump up whatever it takes to repair the damage done by the sins of their lords and masters.
